A World Lit Only By Fire (The English Village After Dark Experience)

What is it like to live in a world without electricity?

Experience the 17th century after dark! Cozy up in front of a crackling fire in the English Village as you are entertained with stories and songs from Alice Bradford. You might even be asked to help with some evening chores.

Participants will enjoy a walking tour from the Visitor Center led by Tom Begley, Deputy Director for Research & Public Engagement, in which he will guide you to the 17th-Century English Village to gather around the hearth with Mistress Alice Bradford portrayed by Malka Benjamin, Director of Colonial Interpretation & Training.

This is a special after-dark tour for those brave enough to face the darkness of a November night and is only being offered once this year. Join us for this one-of-a-kind opportunity to explore a world lit only by firelight.
