In this study day we will take an in depth look at the artists who lived, worked and visited the Lizard Peninsula since the 19th century. We start by looking at 19th century painters
including famous artists such as William Holman Hunt (1827–1910) to locals like Thomas Hart and his artistic family as well as William Casley .They were famous for their large
watercolours of the rocks of Kynance cove and Lizard coast. The second talk looks at artists who painted on the Lizard in the 20th century including official war artist John Platt
(1886–1967) and the surrealist John Tunnard (1900–1971) who lived and worked in Cadgwith in the 1930s and 40s. The third session looks at modern and contemporary artists
based on the Lizard including Bryan Ingham, Vince Tutton, Barrie Cook, Johnathan Coudrille, Heather Howe, Martin Grimshaw, Janet Judge and many more.
