Unleash your inner viking with an epic weekend of myth, adventure and games in the company of the companions of the Norse gods
This year's magical family fun event at Wild Heart Hill sees the return of Geri and Freki, Odin’s two wolf companions and the stars of our ongoing, spellbinding story. Being held for the first time over two action-packed days this year's event will also see the return of the goddess Freya’s hawk, Vedrfolir. Choose to come along on Saturday 25 July or Sunday 26 July or maximise the adventure with a weekend pass.
What is included in your ticket:
-Meet the wolves as we open our day with their stories of adventures with Odin. Geri and Freki will be happy to give you the opportunity to have your photos taken with them in Wolf Woods and for you to join them for a meet and greet in the woods as their experienced handler Natalie of Watermill Wolves & Project Wolfheart tells you all about them and answers your wolfie questions.
-Let your imagination take wing in the company of the goddess Freya’s hawk, Vedrfolir, as he glides effortlessly across the field.
-Later in the day, enjoy a mesmerising display of birds of prey as Chris from The Falcon’s Quiver Events tells us all about falconry.
-Meet the magnificent birds up close as Chris tells you all about them, answering any questions you may have.
-Under the guidance of skilled archer Red Fox you'll have the chance to unleash your inner marksman, test your archery skills and hit the bullseye.
-Choose your side as shield maidens and viking warriors clash over territories. Shield walls, swords and battles in the centre ring with Swords-for-Horses re-enactment group.
-Who is the true axe master of your family? Team Red Fox will be taking you through your paces with have-a-go axe throwing, ensuring every throw is fun and safe. May Thor guide your arm and steady your aim.
-Step into the vé and meet with the gods and goddesses of the Nordic myths and sagas and the runes they are associated with.
-Engage in the age-old traditional competition of Tug-of-War that will challenge your agility, teamwork, and strategic thinking. Perhaps family tribe vs family tribe or gods vs goddesses.
