Emma Pei Yin is an Australian-Chinese writer and editor. Her debut novel, WHEN SLEEPING WOMEN WAKE has been published globally, translated into multiple languages and was longlisted for the ARA Historical Novel Prize in 2025. In the last week, Emma's novel has also been announced on the shortlisted for 'Best Debut Fiction' with the Australian Independent Bookseller Awards.She is also the founder of yinfluence editorial, an agency that works with PoC, queer and neurodivergent writers, connecting them with editors and mentors who understand the stakes of telling stories from the margins.
๐๏ธMeet Emma at an intimate Author Talk held at the Museum of the Riverina, Botanic Gardens Site on Friday 20 February, where she will discuss her WWII novel about three Chinese women navigating war-torn Hong Kong and the power of love, family and literary connection.
Emma's talk will be moderated by local Historian and Riverina Readers Festival Reading Team member, Samantha Leah.
โ๐ป Write with Emma at an exclusive 4-hour workshop on Saturday 21 February at the Wagga Wagga City Library, where she will guide aspiring, emerging or experienced writers through the techniques she uses to develop fictional worlds, weave history through fictional narrative and plot out a captivating storyline.
