A TRIP TO SOUTH AMERICA...
Afro-Cuban jazz and Afro-Brazilian jazz were two of the most popular Latin jazz subgenres in the 1960s and 1970s. These rhythms have a lot of syncopation and are influenced by Latin and African rhythms. Unlike other types of jazz—which use swinging eighth notes—Latin jazz uses straight eighth notes, and musicians play each note of an eighth note pair for the same length of time.
Our featured artist for this concert on June 20 in Crystal Hall is Miguel “Mambo” DeLeon on percussion and vocals. He is known in the Midwest Salsa and Latin Jazz scene as “The Pioneer” ,“El Pionero”, since the mid 1980’s. He has opened many times for well known Latin jazz groups, including Santana.
Join us in giving Miguel a great Prescott welcome by making this another sold out concert. Click here to buy tickets now: https://ci.ovationtix.com/36295/production/1261590?performanceId=11739438
