WOMEN OF COUNTRY is a heartfelt and high-energy tribute to the trailblazing women who shaped country music — the bold pioneers who broke the rules, pushed the boundaries, and paved the way for generations to come.Honouring the fierce foremothers of the genre, this two-hour show celebrates the iconic voices and stories of legends like Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Kitty Wells, Patsy Montana, June Carter Cash, Emmylou Harris, and Bobbie Gentry, with nods to modern icons like Kacey Musgraves and Shania Twain.
After being named one of Double J’s Most Unmissable Shows at the 2024 Tamworth Country Music Festival — and playing to sold-out crowds at The Vanguard and Camelot Lounge in Sydney — Women of Country is now coming to The Beer Shed!
The show is led by Lozz Benson — on drums, autoharp and vocals — a dynamic force in the Australian music scene whose credits include John Butler Trio, Angus & Julia Stone, Kate Ceberano, Marcia Hines, The Wiggles, and The Voice Australia (Team Keith Urban). In the country music world, Lozz is a regular collaborator with Luke O’Shea, Jem Cassar-Daley, Fanny Lumsden, and can often be found playing classic country and western at Jolene’s in Sydney.
She’s joined by an all-star band of Australia's finest session musicians:
