🎶 Join us for an evening celebrating the legacy of legendary blues musician Blind Blake!
On Tuesday, July 14, from 6:00–7:30 p.m., the Weyenberg Library welcomes Milwaukee musician Jon Mroz and Matt Hendricks for a special tribute to one of America's most influential blues artists. Hosted by the Wisconsin Blues Music Hall of Fame, this engaging program will feature live music, stories, and insights into Blind Blake's remarkable career and lasting impact on American music.
Known as the "King of Ragtime Guitar," Blind Blake was a pioneering guitarist and singer whose innovative fingerpicking style helped shape the sound of early blues and inspired generations of musicians.
Jon Mroz's performances go far beyond a concert. Through extensive research, careful study of original recordings, and years of dedication to the blues tradition, he brings audiences an authentic and educational experience that illuminates both the music and the history behind it. For anyone interested in preserving and understanding America's blues heritage, this is a program well worth traveling for.
