About the workshop: This advanced interactive workshop for clinicians is based upon the ZBGC’s new Transfemme Practice Guide: Responding to the objectification , fetishisation and sexual exploitation of trans women and trans feminine people by cisgender men. Topics covered in the session will include:
- the experiences and impacts of objectification, fetishisation and sexual exploitation on trans women and trans feminine people’s mental health & wellbeing
- the drivers of cisgender men’s violence against trans women and trans feminine people in intimate partner relationships
- supporting trans women and trans feminine people’s knowledge of sex, consent and healthy relationships
- practice considerations including screening & safety planning.
Target audience: Clinicians working in mental health or whose practice may include addressing gendered violence. We invite practitioners to attend who have existing experience or knowledge in working with trans and gender diverse people to learn and contribute practice wisdom.
About the project: The Transfemme project, developed by the Zoe Belle Gender Collective, aims to address cisgender men’s violence against transgender women and trans feminine people. As a project with no ongoing funding we welcome your support. Please consider donating via the link here.
