A Thing of Beauty is a moving and intimate drama inspired by pivotal moments in the life of Edith Stein, told through the character of Sarah Weiss, later known as Sister Fransisca. Set within the quiet receiving room of a convent, the story unfolds as faith, identity, and moral courage are tested under the growing shadow of Nazi persecution. This production is staged inside a church chapel, allowing the sacred space itself to shape the experience. With a restrained visual design and original music, the performance centers the actors and the text, drawing audiences into the inner lives of women grappling with truth, conviction, and silence in a time of profound danger. A Thing of Beauty is ultimately a story of faith that is hard won, courage that is quietly held, and the cost of standing firm when the world demands surrender.
Content Advisory: This production contains references to antisemitism, anti-Jewish rhetoric, and the realities of Nazi persecution, which may be distressing for some audience members.
Doors open 30 minutes prior to the performance.
