Being under Portuguese, Dutch and English rule, it’s strategic locations that made it a crucial pit stop in trade routes and it’s diverse ethnic and multicultural society all contributed to the unique and diverse cuisine of Sri Lanka. From its bustling markets filled with spices and fresh ingredients to its warm hospitality, Sri Lankan food reflects the island’s unique blend of cultures, including Sinhalese, Tamil, Muslim, Burgher, and Malay communities. Experience the island's rich heritage through its tantalizing flavors and aromatic dishes, each with its own story to tell.
