Treat yourself to a captivating experience at the Jones Mansion where culinary tradition meets history ! This event offers a unique opportunity to indulge in flavors from the past while discovering the fascinating food preferences of our ancestors. For over a decade, research historian Casey Heilman has passionately studied and experimented with cultivating and pickling rare historic varieties of produce, giving you the chance to literally take a bite out of history. Join Casey for a brief presentation that showcases a selection of sweet and savory pickled delights, enjoyed from the mid-1700s to the present day. Savor such treats as pickled black raspberries , dilled beans, cowboy candy, and more. A limited range of pickled goods will be available for purchase following Casey's presentation- don't miss this chance to take home a piece of history ! Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., with the program beginning at 7:00 p.m. Admission includes light refreshments with cocktails from our boutique bar, Elijah's , available at an additional cost. Tickets are just $20 per person and can be secured by calling Jane at 419-722-7037. Seating is limited and tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
