Join Maya's Club, in collaboration with Big Maya’s Jerk, for a FREE interactive cookery workshop that celebrates diversity through food, music, and conversation. This hands-on cooking session will introduce you to the vibrant flavours of Afro-Caribbean cuisine, guiding you in preparing delicious dishes while engaging in meaningful cultural exchange.Participants will cook alongside Maya, dance to lively music, and explore the importance of community and heritage. A special segment on hate crime will be delivered by the North Yorkshire Police, offering insights into building safer, more inclusive communities and addressing unconscious bias.
Expect a blend of cultural flavours, culinary skills, and valuable dialogue in a warm, inclusive setting. Whether you’re passionate about cooking, eager to learn about diverse cultures, or interested in social issues, this workshop offers something for everyone.
