Help Us Beautify Modesto’s Gateway—One Bag of Trash at a Time
Join The Sweet Potato Pie Company during Love Modesto on April 25 as we come together to clean up our adopted roadway in front of the Modesto Airport. This stretch of road is a key gateway into our city, and your help picking up trash will make a visible difference—creating a cleaner, more welcoming first impression for both visitors and locals. It’s a simple, hands-on way to show pride in our community and care for the place we call home.
Volunteers should wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing, closed-toe shoes, and gloves, and bring a water bottle and sunscreen. Together, we can help create a cleaner, greener Modesto—starting right at the entrance.

Love Modesto April 25 begins at the Kickoff Party starting at 7:00 AM at the corner of I & 10th Street (in front of the Gallo Center)! Enjoy an exciting, family-friendly atmosphere with free refreshments, giveaways, kids’ activities, and more. A pancake breakfast will be available for purchase. The first 1,000 attendees will receive a free “I Love Modesto” t-shirt! All volunteers will gather at the Kickoff BEFORE heading to their project locations. We’ll send everyone out at the official 8:30 AM Kickoff to their project locations to make a difference all across Modesto.
Volunteers attending the Downtown Kickoff Party will have the opportunity to enter a drawing for great prizes! Check in with a Love Modesto greeter to participate - winners must be present to claim their prize.
