About this Event
What’s happening with climate and nature, and what does it mean for everyday life in the UK?
Join us for a screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing - an eye-opening film bringing together nine leading UK scientists and experts with the latest evidence and why it matters for things like:
🌧️ Extreme weather
🍞 Food security
🏥 Health
💷 Cost of living
The film is based on the National Emergency Briefing in Westminster (featured by ITV, Channel 4 and The Times) with appearances from Chris Packham, Deborah Meaden, and a range of voices from across the UK.
After the film there will be a short open discussion about what it means for our community and what we can do locally.
We will be inviting local politicians and are optimistic that they will join with constituents for this important discussion about our future.
Seats are free but limited so please book in advance.
- Doors at 6.45pm - come for a drink and chat!
- Film starts at 7.15pm (film length 48 mins)
- Discussion after - working on something open & interactive, no-one needs another panel!
Bring a friend, neighbour or family member: everyone is welcome (all ages welcome, children are the future, but please watch the trailer below and have a think about whether it's appropriate for your under 18's).

“The National Emergency Briefing could not be more timely. The science is moving fast, and every year the risks become clearer. Britain has led before, and we must lead again - not with words, but with action to protect our people, our prosperity and our children’s future. But first, all policymakers must ensure they are fully informed."
Lord Deben
“We face a climate emergency. MPs need to be awake to the risks and ready for action, which is why I ask them to prioritise attending a local screening of the People's Emergency Briefing film."
Professor Joanna Haigh CBE
