About this Event
Sometimes, when we’re feeling stressed and stretched thin, running around taking care of everybody else - the most supportive thing we can do is pause and ask: what do I need right now?
For many of us, this isn’t easy. We were raised to believe that putting ourselves first is selfish, indulgent, or somehow unkind. We learn to override our own needs, to keep going, to hold it all together, even when the body and mind are quietly asking for rest.
Yet self-care isn’t about selfishness. It’s about sustainability. It’s about creating the inner conditions that allow us to show up with more steadiness, clarity, and compassion - for ourselves and for others.
This 90-minute workshop is an invitation for you all to welcome a softness into your life, to simplify and listen inward. Rooted in yogic philosophy, particularly aparigraha (the practice of non-grasping), we explore how letting go, both in the body and the mind can create space for clarity, steadiness, and ease to naturally emerge.
The session unfolds gently, beginning with grounding breath-work and slow somatic release, before moving into a deeply nourishing yin practice designed to ease winter heaviness and support the subtle body.
Through guided storytelling, inward reflection, and journaling, you’ll be invited to notice what you may be holding unnecessarily and what quietly remains when the excess falls away.
We close with a simple, heartfelt sankalpa ritual, an intention that arises not from pressure or expectation, but from truth and inner listening.
This ultimate self-care offering is an invitation to practise that kind of care. Not through effort or fixing, but through listening, softening, and letting go.
No prior experience with yin or somatic practices is needed.
