Balladeer Linda Russell and instrumentalist Christa Patton explore the life of the common soldier of the Revolution as seen in song. Playing guitar, dulcimer, pipe and tabor, flute and bagpipe, the duo will sing camp songs, songs of mutiny and desertion, parodies, patriotic anthems and ballads. “Nothing is more agreeable and ornamental than good music; every officer, for the credit of his corps, should take care to provide it” wrote George Washington who understood the power of music. This program looks at the tunes, both military and secular, that were part of soldier’s lives.$15 General Admission
