A Shared Creation: Your Family Tree

Collaborative Family Tree Paint Party

Create something meaningful together. This special paint party invites your entire family to gather around one shared 24 x 24 inch, 1.5" deep canvas and collaboratively bring your family tree to life. Designed to be relaxed, inclusive, and memory-making, this experience is about connection as much as creativity.

An experienced artist will guide your group step by step, ensuring everyone feels comfortable participating—whether you’re picking up a paintbrush for the first time or simply cheering others on. No prior experience is required, and participation is completely optional. What matters most is that anyone who wants to contribute has the chance to do so.

Creative expression is encouraged! We’re happy to help you select a color palette that reflects your family’s style and story. All supplies are provided, including aprons for each guest (if desired), so you can relax and enjoy the process.

This could be in any style - realistic, surreal, or abstract (see photo examples).

• Please bring or write out your family tree with names listed in ascending order for reference
  (bottom trunks represent the oldest generation; top branches represent the youngest present generation).
• Feel free to bring food and drinks—alcohol is welcome at your discretion.
• Sustainably sourced frames are available at 15% off. Let us know during the event if you’d like to schedule a fitting appointment.
• Interested in prints of your finished artwork? Let your instructor, Ruby, know during class. She’ll recommend a local print shop.
• You'll have the option to have the instructor touch it up afterwards, if desired. Just give us a few days and meet back at the gallery to pick it up.

About your instructor: Ruby started sketching at an early age and has been painting with acrylics for over 10 years. She is mainly self-taught except for general grade school classes and one college intro to painting course. She has a deep love for nature and has always appreciated art as a way to express oneself and broaden perspectives. Her style has evolved from landscapes, to surrealism, and now visionary art. Ruby started teaching art classes in 2025 at Terra Gallery and practices life coaching to help others live with more ease and get into their creative flow.
