A Season of Spirits: Ghostly Revels for the Holidays
Gather close this December for storytelling, song, and a little seasonal magic, with two family-friendly matinees for all ages
Dunes Arts Foundation is delighted to present A Season of Spirits: Ghostly Revels for the Holidays, a cozy return to the Victorian tradition of gathering by candlelight at Christmas to share ghost stories. Beloved classics and modern tales are woven together with song and dance, inviting audiences to pull their chairs in close as the line between festive cheer and the fantastical glows, flickers, and fades.
In Victorian homes, no holiday was complete without a good ghost story. This season, Region actors including Danielle Bilderback, Morgan McCabe, Emmie Reigel, Nora Ryszka, Timothy Slatton, and others bring that tradition to life with dramatic readings of stories by Victorian and modern authors.
Two Performances, Two Kinds of Magic
Family Matinees are made for curious kids and the grown-ups who love them. Expect otherworldly, whimsical, and delightfully odd tales, with plenty of wonder, a few giggles, and a gentle tingle of mystery rather than real scares. It's a perfect way to start a new holiday tradition with your family.
Evening Performances are for mature audiences and venture into darker, stranger territory, with stories that reveal the emotional specters we carry with us and add a sense of cosmic wonder to the winter night.
All four performances feature song and dance.
Enter a world where candlelight flickers, snow hushes the night, and something curious waits just beyond the bright holiday lights. A Season of Spirits invites audiences to rediscover why ghosts have always felt at home during the holidays: because winter hearts crave mystery as much as merriment.
