In this presentation we will perform a Rosicrucian Alchemy Meditation to balance and bind together the four elements of Earth, Air, Water, and Fire in our body, to attune with the quintessence or fifth element that directs the transformation of energy into matter. 

We will be aided by vowel sounds in this exercise. (Vowel sounds produce vibrations in the room that pass through one’s own being to stimulate the psychic centres and harmonize with universal vibrations. Their use affects the aura). 

According to Sir Isaac Newton (1642-1727) the ‘quintessence’ is a thing that is spiritual, penetrating, transformative and  emerges anew from the four elements when they are balanced and bound together.

How did the knowledge of the fifth element come to us? Michael White writes in Isaac Newton, The Last Sorcerer, “Like all European alchemists from the Dark Ages to the beginning of the scientific era and beyond, Newton was motivated by a deep-rooted commitment to the notion that alchemical wisdom extended back to ancient times. The Hermetic tradition—the body of alchemical knowledge—was believed to have originated in the mists of time and to have been given to humanity through supernatural agents.” 

Rosicrucians have been aware of Sir Isaac Newton’s  mystical interests for centuries. 

He kept his mystical interests secret. He also felt he was protecting humanity from the misuse of alchemical knowledge. His papers on alchemy remained largely unknown for 200 years. Fortunately, many of his previously unavailable manuscripts were donated to the University of Cambridge in 1946. Among Newton's works was his translation of the Emerald Tablet of the Hermetic tradition. Apollonius of Tyana said the Tablet explained the  secrets of the creation of beings and the knowledge of the causes for all things.
