About this Event

Join renowned Chinese medicine practitioners and authors Z'ev Rosenberg, L.Ac. and Stephen Cowan, MD for a special presentation exploring Chinese circadian medicine and the ideas behind their forthcoming book, A Room Full of Mirrors.

Building on their recent presentation at UC San Diego, Rosenberg and Cowan will explore traditional Chinese understandings of time, rhythm, and health, with a special focus on circadian medicine and its relevance to contemporary clinical practice.

The seminar will be followed by a book signing and meet & greet with the authors. Copies of A Ring Without End will be available for signing, and attendees are welcome to bring copies of the authors' other works.

About the Presenters

Z’ev Rosenberg, L.Ac. is an internationally recognized practitioner, educator, and author in the field of classical Chinese medicine. He has practiced acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine since 1983 and served for 23 years as Chair of the Department of Herbal Medicine at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego. He is the founder and director of the Alembic Institute, where he teaches advanced studies in the Chinese medical classics, pulse diagnosis, and herbal medicine. His books include A Ring Without End, Returning to the Source, Ripples in the Flow, Afterglow, and, with Sabine Wilms, Humming with Elephants.


Stephen Cowan, MD, FAAP is a board-certified pediatrician, developmental specialist, and practitioner of medical acupuncture who integrates Western and Chinese medicine in his approach to health and development. A longtime student of Chinese medicine, he has lectured internationally on holistic and integrative approaches to pediatric health. Dr. Cowan is the author of Fire Child, Water Child, which explores childhood development through the Five Phases of Chinese medicine, and children’s books including The Last Elephant, which introduces young readers to the Five Elements of Chinese philosophy.
