In her talk, ‘A quiet unfolding’, Hannah will discuss how her working process treads a fine balance between control and risk, making and unmaking.
In this talk she will discuss how research informs her making, imbuing her work with richly layered meaning and metaphor.
About Hannah
Hannah Lamb is a Yorkshire-based artist, lecturer and author working in fine art textiles. She creates work to commission for public and heritage settings and regularly exhibits with the 62 Group of Textile Artists. She is the author of two books on textile art, ‘Poetic Cloth’ (2019) and ’Unfolding Cloth’ (2025), both published by Batsford.
Alongside her established art practice, Hannah leads the FdA and BA Textiles Practice programmes at Bradford School of Art. Hannah has previously exhibited and given talks at Sunny Bank Mills and we are thrilled to welcome her back.
About Threads Textile Festival
This event is taking place as part of Sunny Bank Mills' annual celebration of textiles; featuring a series of workshops, exhibitions, talks, and a large textile market. This year’s Threads Textile Festival will take place across the site of Sunny Bank Mills on Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th May 2026.

Sunny Bank Mills is an inspirational cultural destination in the heart of the local community of Farsley, Leeds. Founded in 1829, these glorious Mills are being regenerated by the sixth generation of the family owners, creating a wonderful blend of work, leisure and culture.

The venue of this talk is on the 2nd floor of the 1912 Mill, which is accessed via two flights of stairs or a wheelchair accessible lift.
There are accessible toilets on the ground and 2nd floor of the venue.
