A quick-paced ceremony and performance to honor the 250th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. This event features a cohort of 20 Greater Cincinnatians specially selected because of their civic participation and dedication (including Jan-Michele Lemon Kearney, Adrian Flores, Tarita Preston, Jack Louiso, Julie Kirkpatrick, Alfonso Cornejo, Leslie Ghiz, and Charleston Wang) who will each read a portion of “the document that changed the world.” Followed by a performance by No Promises Vocal Band and other artistic entertainment.
Join in making a new Cincinnati tradition. An historic event, "A Public Reading of the Declaration of Independence" will be the 2nd time since 1925 that Greater Cincinnati has hosted a reading of the Declaration of Independence at a public gathering on the Fourth of July. Before the Civil War every American community read it aloud in a public forum.
