A practical insight to bringing the Updated Aistear to practice

We welcome Lorraine Cash, Owner and Manager of Tír na nÓg, Athy, who will speak about the work she has implemented within her setting.

Lorraine brings extensive experience in early childhood education and care, with a strong focus on curriculum, pedagogy, educator reflection, and the creation of rich, play-based learning environments. Through a collaborative leadership approach, Lorraine places strong value on professional growth, educator agency, and ongoing development, empowering educators to engage in thoughtful and intentional practice.

In her presentation, Lorraine will share practical insights from her setting, highlighting how she supports both educators and children to become agentic learners. She will also provide examples of play experiences she has designed to nurture fiosrach (curiosity), muinín (confidence), and spraíúlacht (playfulness) in the children in her care.
