In this hands-on session, Will from Maplewood Permaculture will guide participants through the early stages of permaculture property design, including how to establish a base map and undertake a simple site sector analysis. These foundational tools help reveal how sun, wind, water, access, and movement shape a landscape before moving into detailed planning and planting.
The workshop will also include a few simple illustration and sketching techniques to help participants visually map ideas and observations. No prior drawing experience is needed — just curiosity and a willingness to explore your site through design thinking.
Bring along paper and pencils if you’d like to sketch and participate in the interactive activities.
