A People’s Stocktake: A Story of the Global Ethical Stocktake
On Wednesday evening, the world premiere of A People’s Stocktake (Brazil, 2026) opens the Global Ethical Stocktake story to the public for the first time. Directed by Leonardo Menezes and Eduardo Carvalho, this 80-minute documentary goes behind the scenes of the Global Ethical Stocktake, following the collective construction of an ethical climate manifesto that brought together voices from five continents.
The film features former President of Ireland Mary Robinson, former President of Chile Michelle Bachelet, Nobel Peace Prize laureate Kailash Satyarthi, former President of Kiribati Anote Tong, Wanjira Mathai of the World Resources Institute, Ana Toni (Executive Director of COP30), and Karenna Gore of the Center for Earth Ethics, among others.
A post-screening conversation will explore how culture and storytelling can be engines of climate action, featuring:
- Leonardo Menezes — documentary director
- Lucia Ixchiu — Indigenous activist and journalist, Guatemala
- Alexia Ferreira — Brazilian visual artist
