NIGHT of HOPESaturday, September 21, Friends of Divine Providence Training Center presents “Night of Hope” a concert event featuring HOME BY DARK with special guests Emily Shackelton and JP Williams. An evening of hit songwriters, inspiring stories, powerful performances, and the opportunity to raise funds for Divine Providence Training Center in Kenya. The concert takes place at the newly renovated Union Hill Park Pavilion in Alpharetta, Georgia. Reserved table seating is available for groups of 4, 6, 8, or 10-guests. Over the last ten years, Divine Providence Training Center (DPTC) has graduated 168 pastors who lead over 200 churches and ministries reaching over 2.6 million people with the love of Jesus. Your support empowers their training in Biblical and holistic principles equipping the pastors to meet the spiritual needs of their people as well as facing the key challenges in their nation of corruption, poverty, access to clean water, health and wellness, homelessness, tribal conflict, and response to disasters.
Since 2007, HOME BY DARK has captivated audiences with one of the most powerful and unique concert events in America. Guest performers have written songs for Garth Brooks, Chicago, Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, Sara Evans, Stevie Nicks, Kenny Chesney, Sister Hazel, Ray Charles, Miranda Lambert, Eric Clapton, Trisha Yearwood, and more. Guest instrumentalists have performed with Jon Bon Jovi, Lee Ann Womack, Martina McBride, Willie Nelson, Michael McDonalds, Toto, on the David Lettermen Show, at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Disney, and around the world. Emily Shackelton is a singer/songwriter hailing from Biwabik, Minnesota. She celebrated her first Number 1 with Carly Pearce's breakout single "Every Little Thing” in 2018, and recently celebrated her second Number 1 with Pearce's hit song "What He Didn't Do". Both songs won coveted NSAI “Ten Songs I Wish I’d Written” awards. Emily was awarded “Breakout Songwriter of the Year 2018” by Music Row Magazine and proudly writes for Winsongs Publishing. Her writing catalog also includes singles and cuts by Lauren Alaina, Reba McEntire, Joe Nichols, Runaway June, Blessing Offor, Sara Evans, Jana Kramer, David Cook, Chrissy Metz, Joy Williams and more, as well as tv shows like Nashville, American Idol, and Dancing With the Stars. She recently made her television debut performing and presenting alongside Carly Pearce on the ACM Honors Awards, streaming now on Hulu.
Blind since the age of 10, JP Williams has overcome obstacles that have made him stronger, wiser, and grateful. He wrote the #1 Southern Gospel hit and Dove Award nominated “Never Walk Alone” for Brian Free and Assurance, as well as the #1 country song “Best Shot” recorded by Jimmie Allen. In addition to performing and writing, JP is a popular speaker and ICF-certified life coach.
