A night of Blues, Jazz & Rock'n'Roll in 'speak easy' set up. On the night, you will hear Angel and The Dead Hearts, the new 'Rockin' Blues Band, featuring Paula Marks (Vocals), Alan Corcoran (Drums), James Dobbs (Double Bass) and Mick McDonagh (Lead Guitar and vocal), Lorne Shields (rythm guitar and harmonica) are making waves after their very successful launch at The Rock'n'Roll Town Festival on May 6th '24. The second band of the night is Tiny Crimes, looking to evoke the Jazz of the late 1930's to early 1940s- when Swing was evolving into Bebop and electric guitars were making themselves heard for the first time. Two of the great electric pioneers were Charlie Christian and Tiny Grimes, whose playing helped set the standard for this new instrument. Tiny Crimes is a project to celebrate the music of these early pioneers. The members are Richard King (Ain't Misbehavin') and Des Mc Hugh (The Flying Monkeys) on guitars and Graham Lloyd (Bossa Nua) on bass., from the diverse musical worlds of Gypsy Jazz, Chicago Blues and Bossa Nova. What brings them together? 'These tunes aren't good because they're Standards; they're standards because they're good.' Supporting DJ Vince. The event takes place at The Bailey, on Sunday, September 22nd, 8pm, in a 'Speak Easy' Setting. Admission is €5.
