About this Event

Join us for A Night at the Mills — a special evening dedicated to celebrating the history of Eckersley Mill.

Set on the top floor of Cotton Works, this two-hour heritage event brings together local voices, lived experiences, and expert insight to honour the generations who shaped this iconic site — while exploring how its story continues today.

Through a series of short talks and reflections, guests will hear about the mill’s rich industrial past, its importance to the Wigan community, and the exciting plans shaping its next chapter.

The evening will also support The Mill Legacy Project, a community-led initiative to commission a permanent plaque or monument recognising the people who worked at Eckersley Mill and their contribution to the town.

Whether you have a personal connection to the mill or simply an interest in Wigan’s heritage, this is an opportunity to be part of something meaningful.
