A Month of Marketing in an Afternoon

Most small businesses know they should be posting, advertising and keeping an eye on the numbers. Far fewer have the time to work out where to start, or where the first few pounds of an ad budget should go.

This workshop shows how AI tools can help with each of those jobs. We follow one made-up business, a print and design studio in Manchester, from a blank page to a campaign ready to launch, and look at what the tools produce, where they work well, and where they still need a person checking the result.

Come along, watch, ask questions, and take away the parts that fit your own business.

We will look at:

· Briefing AI to create on-brand images and a month of social media posts.

· Making a short launch video with captions.

· Setting up a first, low-budget ad campaign, with Facebook and Instagram, Google and TikTok compared side by side.

· Reading an ads dashboard, and the handful of numbers worth checking each week.

· Bringing the results from each platform together in one simple dashboard.

· Keeping an eye on what competitors are advertising, using the public ad libraries.

The session will include

· Welcome and introductions, with a short briefing on intellectual property, trademarks and copyright when using AI.

· Live demonstrations on screen, talking through each step as we go.

· What UK advertising rules say about AI images, prices and reviews.

· A short break part way through.

· Time for questions, and a look at anything the room is particularly interested in.

What to bring

Bring a laptop with AI software if you would like to try things out as we go. This is entirely optional, as everything is shown on screen at the front.

No prior experience required

You do not need a technical background or any experience with AI or paid advertising. Everything is explained in plain English as we go, and questions are welcome at any point.

Please note

It is important to protect your own intellectual property, and to respect other people's.

· Please do not enter confidential, personal or commercially sensitive information into any tool during the session. The examples used in the session are made up.

· Please do not use other organisations' brands, logos or copyrighted material in anything created during the session. Competitors' ads are viewed in the public ad libraries for reference only, never copied.

· Anything you create yourself is yours. You are responsible for checking that you are free to use it, and AI generated images, video and text may not always be protected by copyright.

· This session is for general information only. It is not legal, financial or professional advice, and it is not an endorsement of any particular product, platform or supplier.

· Always check anything an AI tool produces before you publish it, pay to promote it or send it to a customer.
