Join animator and historian Steve Segal for a brief look at animation’s long history!From before Gertie the Dinosaur to beyond Pixar, Professor Segal will give us a look at some firsts, some seminal moments, and a few surprises.
About Steve Segal:
Steve Segal worked in traditional animation for ten years before expanding into computer animation, eventually joining Pixar as an animator on Toy Story. At Pixar he also worked on A Bug’s Life, as well as short features, commercials, and computer games. He also worked on the classic film The Brave Little Toaster, and the TV series Pee-Wee’s Playhouse. Segal has taught animation at institutions including CalArts, Academy of Art University, and SF State.
This free event received funding support from the Friends of the Menlo Park Library.

This April, Menlo Park is joining with other libraries throughout San Mateo County to present the 10th Annual Peninsula Libraries Comic Arts Fest (PLCAF), a month of events and activities celebrating the art form! Other comic arts events here in Menlo Park include:
