In 2026 they delivered Wakespeare. Funded by Wakefield Council Culture Grants, this theatre programme saw Wakefield residents take classic Shakespeare scenes and characters. They reimagined them in a Wakefield context. This was capped by a performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream for a small audience at Pontefract Castle.
With the summer weather here, Empath Theatre is now reprising this show with a free performance on Pontefract Castle's bailey. Everyone is invited to enjoy A Midsummer Night's Dream, one of Shakespeare's most fantastical and fun plays, for free!
