Synopsis:
William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a whimsical romantic comedy that intertwines the lives of four young lovers, a group of amateur actors, and a band of mischievous fairies in an enchanted Athenian forest. As Duke Theseus prepares to wed Hippolyta, Hermia defies her father’s wishes by fleeing into the woods with her true love, Lysander, followed by Demetrius—her unwanted suitor—and Helena, who loves Demetrius. Meanwhile, the fairy king Oberon and queen Titania quarrel, leading Oberon’s servant Puck to use a magical flower that causes people to fall in love with the first creature they see. Chaos and mistaken affections ensue, culminating in reconciliation, laughter, and multiple weddings as both mortals and fairies restore harmony to the world.
