Join Diane Wilson as she reads new work and shares the stage with other Indigenous writers during this celebratory event.
About this Event

Diane Wilson will read her new essay created especially for this year’s Big Read. Diane and Rosetta Peters work remotely with writers from the Pine Ridge Reservation. The Wówapi Kága Oyáte writers are coming to the Valley to share their work alongside Diane and Rosie for this celebratory event.

Diane Wilson (Dakota) lives near the St. Croix River in Minnesota, where she cares for an Indigenous seed garden, native perennials for pollinators, and a Tamarack bog. Wilson is enrolled on the Sicangu Oyate (Rosebud) reservation in South Dakota, and is a Mdewakanton descendent. The Seed Keeper, (Milkweed Editions) received the 2022 Minnesota Book Award for Fiction. Her memoir, Spirit Car: Journey to a Dakota Past (Borealis Books) won a 2006 Minnesota Book Award. Along with other books and essays, Diane co-authored a picture book, Where We Come From, (Lerner Publishing), winner of the 2023 Carter G. Woodson award.

A Love Letter to the St. Croix with Diane Wilson is presented by ArtReach St. Croix with support from Valley Bookseller and library branches across the lower St. Croix Valley.

Lobby opens at 5:30pm and doors open at 5:45pm.

Limit 6 tickets per reservation. Donations will be requested.

An ASL interpreter will be available at this event.
