It's with excitement that we invite you along to the launch of our latest publication, A Little Life [Advice] – a celebratory piece of print that marks the finale of our work to rewrite the story of dementia.

The publication draws on learnings and words gathered during our previous project, Blue Bins, which began with a series of co-produced creative writing workshops designed in collaboration with STAND members to ensure accessibility and relevance as we gathered the most cherished life advice of groups of people living with dementia. The words were initially published in a 1/1 artbook to create a tangible legacy of their wisdom, to be revisited, reread and reshared over and over again.

Further developed and designed, thanks to the support of Edinburgh University Community Grants and our members, A Little Life [Advice] builds on this initial concept by inviting new groups to participate and ensuring their legacy is captured in print. Their words are presented in a small-format cascading fold publication: made to be kept, handled, read and returned to. Inside readers will find a selction of life advice from people living with dementia across Edinburgh and Fife. Published as Alzheimers Research UK reports that 1 in 3 people living with dementia in the UK don't have a diagnosis – meaning many go without support, explanation or any framework for what comes next – A Little Life [Advice] shares words of support from those best placed to offer them.
