A special screening of A Litany for Survival and three short films in honor of National Poetry Month.
About this Event

In celebration of National Poetry Month, Reel Sisters and Third World Newsreel will present a screening of the newly restored documentary A Litany For Survival in tribute to legendary Harlem born poet/activist Audre Lorde. The screening will be held on Sat., April 18, 2026, 5:35 pm at the Maysles Documentary Center as a part of Reel Sisters spring Harlem Tea & Cinema Series. The Maysles Documentary Center is located at 343 Lenox Ave. (cor. 127 Street). Michele Avery, Reel Sisters Curator, will lead the film talk.

The film showcase will be held from 4 pm-7:30 pm. Tickets: $7, plus Eventbrite fees.

A filmmaking workshop led by award-winning filmmaker Eunice Levis will be held from 2 pm-3:30 pm. To register for the workshop visit www.reelsisters.org.
