About this Event
Join us at the Moose Lodge for a fun and cozy storytime! Dive into the charming tales of Palmer through the eyes of Palmer Public Library's first credentialed librarian, Sally Gwin, who served as director from 1979-1989. It’s a great chance to explore local stories, including vignettes about Ada Blackjack, Wild Bill Nelson, a Jonesville coal miner, and some talkative ravens!
This one-woman docu-drama was written and produced by Bridgette Preston of Grandmother Raven Productions—creator of Stories in Stone Palmer Pioneer Cemetery tours, Palmer Agrarian Rhythm walks, and the show Alaska’s Wonder Woman: The Dorothy Page Story about the mother of the Iditarod. She has a book for elementary kids coming out this spring, Baking Up Gold: True Tales and Tasty Treats from the Mining Heritage of Hatcher Pass.
Diana Bailey brings Sally Gwin to life with captivating energy. She wowed audiences as Dorothy Page in Alaska’s Wonder Woman and has shone in several Valley Performing Arts roles in recent years.
Don’t miss out on this heartfelt event—a fundraiser for the new Palmer Public Library.
