Two classic films showing two unforgettable sides of Katharine Hepburn, from chaotic screwball comedy to sweeping adventure romance.
First up is Howard Hawks’ BRINGING UP BABY (1938), starring Hepburn alongside Cary Grant in one of the greatest comedies of Hollywood’s golden age. A missing dinosaur bone, a leopard called Baby and complete romantic chaos collide in this fast paced and endlessly funny classic.
Following that is John Huston’s THE AFRICAN QUEEN (1951), with Hepburn starring opposite Humphrey Bogart in a story of survival, danger and unlikely romance set during the First World War. Travelling by riverboat through East Africa, two completely different people are forced together on an unforgettable journey.
