A High Springs Christmas π π

Join the event- A High Springs Christmas!
Pastor Joy has spoken to the High Springs Chamber of Commerce President & we will be actively involved this year with all things Christmas in High Springs, helping with the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony & related event, helping find a very nice Christmas Tree to be decorated by the Community, helping make a annual twilight Christmas Parade one to remember, as well as helping bring some other community focused ideas to life this Christmas.
We are so much stronger together & this year we are pushing for the entire community to get involved and to help. We can no longer sit back and expect for the chamber to do it by themselves, as theyβve done for years. We can do so much more when every family, business, organization & individual gets involved- that wants to.
Letβs do more. Letβs make it bigger. Letβs make it better. Letβs do it for the community. For the families and the children. As the event gets more awareness and grows, we may announced via the discussion wall, planning meetings where those interested can come and give input on how to help and what can be done. Many hands make light work!
Join the event and invite others. We put a date of Saturday December 5th, because thatβs the set date for the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, tentatively 5pm to 7pm.
The annual twilight Christmas Parade will be the following Saturday, December 12th at 6pm.
What else can we do during the month or December to make Christmas in High Springs the best yet?! We want to hear your ideas & thoughts. π
What about a Holiday Martket- where business owners, craft vendors & those that sell handmade things & goods can set up downtown & have a large variety of gift options to purchase for Christmas. π
What about a Window Walk, where we Challenge local storefronts downtown to decorate their windows around a central theme. Hold a public vote and offer prizes for the most creative design. Also give walkers later hours to come in & shop?!
What about a Reindeer Run/Walk: Where we host a 5K or 3K fun run where participants wear Santa hats or reindeer antlers. It's a great morning event before evening festivities like the Christmas tree lighting or parade and monetary donations can go to a good cause or help special public safety projects or a school or non profit.
What about Trolley or Wagon Rides: Where we Partner with local farms to offer horse-drawn or tractor-pulled wagon or hay rides through the historic downtown area so residents can easily view the town's holiday decorations & Christmas setups & Christmas lights & decorations on poles?!
What about Community Caroling or Musical Concert. We could utilize local talent by organizing a community Christmas choir, inviting local school bands, or hosting sing-alongs on the steps of city hall or at the downtown pavilion?!
Just to name some things we could do. Join the event and post your ideas in the discussion wall.
