A Guidebook to The Invisible World with Peter Gizzi is an appreciation and meditation on Emily Dickinson.
Peter Gizzi is the author of many collections of poetry, including the Wesleyan University Press titles Fierce Elegy (2023); Archeophonics (2016), a finalist for the National Book Award; In Defense of Nothing: Selected Poems, 1987–2011 (2014); Threshold Songs (2011); The Outernationale (2007); and Some Values of Landscape and Weather (2003). The former poetry editor of The Nation and of o•blék: a journal of language arts, he is also the coeditor of My Vocabulary Did This to Me: The Collected Poetry of Jack Spicer (2008). His honors include a Guggenheim fellowship and a Howard Foundation fellowship. He grew up in Pittsfield, Massachusetts and teaches at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.
