About this Event

May 5, 2026, marked the 50th anniversary of the opening of the new Hennepin County Medical Center, which today has evolved into Hennepin Healthcare. Join us for a special exhibit and presentation, A Groundbreaking Move: Fifty Years After the Opening of the New HCMC, to celebrate this milestone. Learn about what it took to fund, build, and move the hospital two blocks in 1976.

Join us at 9:30 am for pastries and coffee, then at 10 am for our opening program and guest speakers.

Free parking is available in the underground garage. Parking entrance is at 821 Park Ave on Park Avenue between 8th and 9th Streets. Take elevator to first floor for event.
