Word on the street is that Representative Ron Estes will be returning as a featured guest at the Federal Issue Forum on Wednesday, June 17, right here in Wichita. (We know! We thought he just flew over Wichita, too.)
We think we should form a Good Trouble welcome back moment for the Congressman. We've done this before. In fact, one of the first times (in March 2025) an event was held here featuring Mr. Estes, we were so loud he left the event early, didn't talk to the media he invited, and we ended up with Rachel Maddow laughing about it on national television.
Even if he won't take the time to speak with and hear from his constituents, let's remind Mr. Estes works for us - We the People - not Trump. not Musk, not American's For Prosperity - US.
Let's line the sidwalks and welcome Mr. Estes with our numbers, with our signs and with our voices!
>we will remain on public property and will keep entrance and exits clear to allow for safe walkways for pedestrians.
> we will not engage with counter protesters.
> this is a nonviolent protest.
Here's a description of the luncheon event (must be a chamber member to attend - details & tickets here: https://bit.ly/EstesInICT061726 ):
"Decisions in Washington D.C. have a daily impact on the Kansas economy. Hear Congressman Ron Estes, our U.S. Representative for the state’s 4th Congressional District, discuss governmental issues and current events important to your business, organization and our region in South Central Kansas. This event serves as an opportunity for Chamber members to gain a deeper understanding of the federal policies and legislation that impact Wichita and the surrounding region, as well as our advocacy efforts at the Chamber. It is also a great opportunity to stay informed and connect with other business leaders who are interested in these issues."
