The walk starts from Morris Lift Bridge (free) car park 190 metres SouthWest of SY13 2RX What3Words:///airstrip.alarming.exhaleThe Whixall and Bettisfield Mosses are midway between Whitchurch and Wem and a National Nature Reserve home to some unusual wildlife and some interesting fungi with many information panels. The walk is mainly on rough grassy paths over the Moss which can be boggy after sustained rain. We follow part of the Llangollen canal and the Shropshire Way. There is a car park at the start but no toilets. After the walk refreshments are available at the Whixall Marina Cafe which is a short distance by car. There will be one stop for drink and snacks. Although I would say this is a dog friendly walk it will be on lead walking. Walk distance: 5.5mi / 8.9km Total Ascent: 16 ft/5 m Car sharing may be available on request from Telford. Please message us if you need a car share. Leader Jenny S
