About this Event
It is a very special First Friday Book Launch Event with our own Award-Winning Author: Carrie Anne Nobel!
Join us as we celebrate the publication of her 5th book: The Gingerbread Thief!
About the book: Journey afar to a secret baking contest and win the wish of your heart!
Stolen gingerbread recipe in hand, ornery wizard (and former duck) Ansgar sets out to compete for the prize advertised in a mysterious letter: a single wish. His health and magic have faded fast in the three years since he escaped the witch’s forest. Now he’s counting on the same recipe that lured Hansel and Gretel into the witch’s clutches to restore his power and glory.
If anyone wants the wish as much as Ansgar, it’s downtrodden housewife Josephine. After her husband’s death, she's visited by a cat that eerily resembles him. Because of her husband’s past meddling with magic, she believes he bespelled himself into the animal. With the wish, she plans to free him from cat-form and save herself from destitution. If her quest fails, at least she’ll have one grand adventure to remember.
Ansgar isn’t pleased when fate forces him to travel alongside the hopeful widow and the cat his wizardly intuition says is not her husband. He’s allergic to both cats and Josephine’s ceaseless chatter. Unfortunately, he cannot stop himself from falling for her. The woman just might be the death of him.
Together, they’ll face fiery trials, raging rivers, and dubious soup. Ansgar will sneeze, the cat will cause a ruckus, and Josephine’s knitting will come in handy. Before the day of gingerbread reckoning, Ansgar and Josephine will question everything they believe about themselves and each other…and they’ll discover what’s truly worth wishing for.
The Gingerbread Thief is book two in the Gingerbread Legacy duology by award-winning author Carrie Anne Noble. This cozy fantasy full of adventure and romance can be enjoyed as a standalone book or as the sequel to The Gingerbread Queen.
