Nestled within the beautiful countryside of deepest, darkest Dorset, not far from the sea, we will gather together on a small campsite with its own lake for our wild swimming delight. There will be fire pits and bell tents, nourishing food and cooking over the fire, wild swimming in freshwater and the sea, crafting, breathwork and meditation, ritual and community - all the perfect recipe to celebrate this wonderfully rich time of the year. We invite you to join us for a weekend adventure in ancient lands, to come together as community, to grow and explore our soul connections to the magic of the natural world whilst honouring and working with the glorious energy of Mabon and the Autumn Equinox.
£175pp includes tent, campsite fees, all swims and food (except any additional purchases made at the cafe)
As we continue our journey around the Wheel of the Year, we arrive at Mabon and the Autumn Equinox. A counterpoint of Ostara and the Spring Equinox, the Autumn Equinox gives us an opportunity to sit in a place of perfect balance on the cusp of transition where night and day are once again equal in length and in perfect equilibrium - dark and light, masculine and feminine, inner and outer, in balance. From here the natural world begins to wane with a flourish of harvest and rich colours of the land as we turn towards completion with cooler days and longer star filled nights. The sap of the trees returning to their roots, deep within the earth. The woods are changing their mantles from the lush green of summer to the blaze of autumn with fiery oranges, reds and golds. We are returning to the deep, cool safety of the darkness where we came from.
But first…. We have this wonderful opportunity to celebrate the second harvest of the year, the Fruit Harvest and the Great Feast of Thanksgiving. The grain harvest is safely gathered in from Lughnasadh and we are surrounded by the abundance of fruit and vegetables. It is a time to honour the Goddess as the Harvest Queen, thank the God for his gift of grain and show our gratitude to the waning Sun for the wealth of the harvest bestowed upon us. It is a time of rest after the labour of harvest. Time to look at the hopes and intentions that we sewed and nourished at Imbolc and Ostara and reflect on how they grew. It is time to complete projects, clear debris out, let go of that which no longer serves us so that as we continue our journey through the year, Winter can offer us a time of reflection and peace. A time to search the ‘seed catalogues’ for new ideas and hopes which will lie dormant but nourished in the darkness awaiting the return of spring.
So come join us!
If you haven't been wild swimming before or you would like to build your confidence up a little more first, you can book a one to one with Tara@wildswimmingwoman or join one of her Dip Your Toe in events which was how Meredithe started wild swimming!
