Join us on Friday, November 29, 2024, as we mark the Silver Jubilee of “A Dickens Holiday,” a cherished tradition that has brought festive cheer to Fayetteville for the past 25 years! This year’s celebration, in partnership with the Fayetteville History Museum, promises an unforgettable experience as downtown is transformed into a bustling Victorian Christmas marketplace filled with fun, shopping, and holiday cheer.
Immerse yourself in the holiday spirit as you stroll through streets adorned with enchanting Christmas decorations. There will be London Bobbies keeping the peace, roving street performers, musicians, and carolers. The iconic characters from Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, like Ebenezer Scrooge and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, may pop up anywhere! Queen Victoria, her goddaughter Sara Forbes Bonetta, and their court of attendants will make several royal appearances.
This is the perfect opportunity to do holiday shopping in a fun and relaxed atmosphere at our downtown’s locally-owned independent businesses – a traditional destination for finding the best holiday gifts. In addition, you will be delighted to stroll through the “stalls” of over a 100 artisan street vendors selling one-of-a-kind finds like handcrafted ornaments, vintage-inspired decor, and gourmet treats.
