Panelists include:
The intersection of Womanism and elections highlights the importance of representation, policy advocacy, and community engagement in ensuring that the voices and needs of women of color are reflected in the political process. By understanding and addressing these issues, we can work towards a more just and equitable society. Lovelace explores how race, class, gender, motherhood, and citizenship intersect in the rhetoric of belonging and exclusion.
Kierkegaard's philosophies offer intriguing insights into contemporary electoral politics. Given his emphasis on individual authenticity, subjective truth, and the importance of making authentic choices, Kierkegaard might have had a complex perspective on elections. Specifically: The Danger of Mass Psychology: The Importance of Individual Choice: The Paradox of the Universal: The Role of Faith and Commitment: The Temptation of Despair.
The intersection of Christian Nationalism and Biblical Eschatology: Some proponents of Christian Nationalism view the United States as a uniquely blessed nation with a divine mission to establish a Christian nation. They may interpret biblical prophecies as foretelling a future where America plays a central role in God's plan for the end times. This perspective can lead to a conflation of national identity with religious identity, sometimes resulting in a narrow and exclusive view of American values and a disregard for the rich diversity of inclusive religious beliefs and practices within the nation.
All three panelists are critically acclaimed researchers and book authors on the topics they will discuss.
Participants will have time to ask questions and meet the authors.
