Description:
In this class, students will be introduced to the unique craft of gourding through the creation of a simple, but beautiful pear. To create your unique pear we will focus on elements of design and color. After selecting your gourd, you will learn proper cleaning, sanding, and leveling techniques to prepare your “canvas”. Different methods of color application will be explored giving you the opportunity to choose one that suits your personal taste. Some artists choose to add adornments i.e. leaves etc their pear, others like a more minimalistic piece; you will decide after viewing a variety of finished pieces. We will then explore techniques for sealing your finished piece.
All materials are included in the tuition.
