About this Event

A Decade On: From Pilot to a National Centre for sABI

10 years of evidence. Now it’s time to deliver.

The An Saol Foundation warmly invites you to mark ten years since the launch of its pioneering pilot project for people living with severe Acquired Brain Injury (sABI) in Ireland.

A decade ago, we brought together clinicians, advocates, families, and policymakers to highlight a critical gap in our health system. Since then, the evidence has grown, the need has become clearer, and the human impact remains urgent.

This event will reflect on what has been achieved — and focus on what must now be delivered.

Teach an Saol represents a practical, evidence-based next step: a national centre of excellence that can provide appropriate long-term care, improve outcomes, and restore dignity to those most severely affected.

Programme highlights include:

  • Reflections from key partners over the past decade
  • Lived experience: voices from families and individuals
  • Policy perspectives on the current system gap
  • Panel discussion: From pilot to national centre — what will it take?
  • Closing call to action on delivering Teach an Saol

☕ Tea, coffee and sandwiches will be served
🎶 Followed by a music and networking reception

This is an opportunity to engage with a clear, achievable national proposal — grounded in ten years of experience, and focused on delivering meaningful change.

We would be honoured by your presence.
