Coming together to talk about death can feel intimidating at first, but when we sit in a circle with kind hearts and open ears, something tender begins to happen. We take a few quiet breaths and invite people to share—if and when they feel ready—their experiences dealing with the death of a loved one, or their own brushes with the edge: a serious illness, an accident, a moment when life hung by a thread, or even those mysterious near-death experiences that left them forever changed.
There’s no pressure to speak; sometimes just listening wraps everyone in a soft blanket of understanding. Tears come, laughter surprises us, and little by little the fear loosens its grip. In that safe space we discover we’re not alone, that death is simply part of the same love story we’re all living. By the end, most people leave feeling lighter, more connected to one another, and quietly braver about both living and letting go.
