The U.S. Army War College (USAWC) and Fort Ligonier have partnered to develop a leadership seminar focused upon the growth and development of George Washington during the French and Indian War in Western Pennsylvania, 1753-1758. This seminar has been developed for young adults, 15-25 years of age (high school and college students), who are interested in developing their leadership potential, using the biographical example of George Washington at their same age, and at the identical location where he exercised his leadership. This program will be performed using a day-long series of conventional historic lectures, first-person presentations by historians portraying George Washington, and participatory programming including dancing and theatrical activities. This innovative program will permit high school and college students to develop their own leadership skills, through using the proven example of young George Washington. This day-long program is free to students and will include lunch and dinner.
Registration is required, and is being performed through the Fort Ligonier website: https://www.fortligonier.org/event/fort-ligonier-leadership-institute-genesis-of-leadership-draft/.
